👋 We are delighted to welcome Dr Richard Poles to the SISchool team as our new Director of Studies (Secondary School) and Head of Mathematics🎓
Here is a short note from Dr Poles on joining our community:
"Last week, I put on my SISchool shirt, ensured my bag was packed and felt slightly nervous and excited: this week I had my first day at my new school...
I will be working with the SLT focusing on the teaching and learning of staff and students, using my experience from state and international schools in the UK and Italy. Before that I was a project manager and business analyst for investment banks, and (a long time ago) a Mathematician with a post-doc research post.
I am moving to Sardegna with my wife, Becky and our dog (Sian). Our three grown up children are studying and working in the UK. Not only did I teach them all at some point, but they all studied GCSEs and the IB Diploma Programme, giving me the perspective of these courses not only as a teacher, but also as a parent.
Already I have a great welcome and I am looking forward to meeting everyone at coffee mornings and events and I am grateful to be able to join this visionary school at such an exciting time."
🚀We are excited for the journey ahead with Dr Poles as we continue to provide visionary education for our students. Welcome aboard! 🌟
